A website chat you answer from Telegram
A customer writes in the widget on your website — the message arrives in your Telegram. You reply to it, and your answer appears in the chat on the site. No need to keep a dashboard open.
Reply = answer
Every message from your website arrives in the bot with the site name, the page and the customer’s city. Just reply to it — that’s all.
Photos both ways
A customer sends a photo of a product — it arrives in Telegram. You send a photo back — the customer sees it in the chat.
For your whole team
Each operator connects their own Telegram. You can also send messages to your team’s group chat.
How Telegram live chat on your website works
- A customer taps the chat button on your site and types a question. They don’t need a Telegram account.
- The bot forwards the message to you, along with the site name, the page they’re writing from and their city.
- You swipe the message to the left and type a reply. You can send a photo too.
- The customer sees your answer in the website chat, with the operator’s name. The conversation is saved in your Talkoly dashboard.
For the shopper it’s an ordinary website chat. For you it’s one more chat in Telegram.
Why not just a “Message us on Telegram” button
A Telegram link button makes customers leave your website, have an account and write to a stranger’s number. Many people change their mind right at this step. The Talkoly chat works right on the page, with no sign-up for the customer — and you still get the messages in Telegram.
- The customer stays on your site and doesn’t lose the product they were looking at.
- You see which page they’re writing from and how they found you.
- Chat history is saved in the dashboard, not on an operator’s personal phone.
- If a customer prefers a messenger, the widget has Telegram, Viber and Instagram buttons.
Who a Telegram chat for your website suits
- Owners of small stores who pack orders and answer customers themselves. No need to sit at a computer — your phone is already in your pocket.
- Teams with several operators. Each person connects their own Telegram, and a conversation is assigned to whoever replies first.
- Stores that keep working through power cuts. The laptop is flat, but the phone still has mobile data. More on the air raid and power cut mode page.
What it looks like in real stores
A pet shop. The owner is packing parcels in the stockroom. A message comes in: “Do you have food for neutered cats in a 2 kg bag?” She replies from her phone in half a minute.
Phone accessories. A customer sends a photo of their smartphone and asks whether a case will fit. The operator replies in Telegram with a photo of the case, and the customer sees it right in the website chat.
Cosmetics. The store has two operators. Both get messages in Telegram, and whoever is free replies. The other can see that someone is already handling the chat and doesn’t write a second answer.
How to connect
- Create an account and add the chat to your website (one line of code or a plugin).
- In “Settings → Telegram”, click “Connect” — the bot opens.
- Tap “Start”. Done: a new message from your website arrives within a second.
You can also connect your own bot with your store’s name — through @BotFather, in 2 minutes. There’s a step-by-step guide on creating a Telegram bot for your store, and tips for everyday work in our article on replying to website customers from Telegram.
Free Telegram live chat, and what the paid plans add
Replying from Telegram and sending photos both ways are part of the free Start plan: 1 operator, 1 website and 30 days of chat history. That’s enough to get going.
As the number of customers grows, you’ll want the dashboard as well. On the Business plan (499 ₴/month) it adds handing a chat to a colleague, product cards, monobank and LiqPay invoices and Nova Poshta waybills. The Pro plan (999 ₴/month) also brings Viber, Facebook Messenger and Instagram into the same inbox. For the first 14 days after sign-up, every feature is free, with no card required.
