Live chat during air raid alerts and power cuts

When your team is in a shelter or without power, customers shouldn’t feel ignored. The chat explains the delay, collects a contact — and you return to the conversation as soon as you can.

Turns on automatically using alerts.in.ua data for the region you choose, or manually.

“Power cut” mode

Manually or by the outage schedule — the chat warns customers in advance, not after the fact.

No lost messages

While you’re unavailable, the chat asks the customer to leave a phone number, and the contact waits for you in the dashboard.

Why this matters for a Ukrainian store

Air raid alerts and power cuts are part of the working day for many teams. The operator goes to a shelter, the laptop battery dies, the internet drops. And the customer on your site only sees that nobody answers their question — so they go to another store.

An honest explanation works better than silence. Most people will calmly wait if they know the reason and understand that someone will get back to them. That’s exactly what Talkoly does.

How “Air raid” mode works

  • Automatically by region. Choose the region where your team works. When an alert is announced there (according to alerts.in.ua, a Ukrainian air raid alert service), the chat switches on its own, and after the all-clear it goes back to normal.
  • Or manually. If your situation is different, turn the mode on with one button.
  • Text you can edit. For example: “There’s an air raid alert in {city} right now — our team is in a shelter. Leave your phone number and we’ll call you back as soon as we’re back.” The tone and wording are yours.
  • Phone number collection. The customer leaves a contact, and the request doesn’t get lost among others.
  • A banner in the dashboard. Operators see right away that the mode is on and know whom to call back after the all-clear.

“Power cut” mode

It works the same way, but for outages. Turn it on manually when the power goes out, or set it up by the outage schedule — then the chat knows in advance when you may be unavailable. The explanation text is editable too, and customers’ phone numbers are collected in the dashboard.

If the power is out but you have a phone with mobile internet nearby, you can reply straight from Telegram: messages from your site arrive in a bot, and your reply goes to the customer’s chat.

Analytics and the minute of silence

Analytics shows the messages that came in during alerts — so you can see how many customers write at those times and plan your team’s work.

The chat also has a minute of silence at 9:00: every day at that time, the chat joins Ukraine’s nationwide minute of silence. It’s available even on the free Start plan.

How to turn it on

  1. Sign up and install the live chat on your website.
  2. In the settings, choose a region for automatic “Air raid” mode, or keep manual control.
  3. Edit the explanation text for customers.
  4. If needed, set up “Power cut” mode by the outage schedule.

When operators are away for longer, the AI assistant can handle some common questions — it answers from your store’s help articles, and if it doesn’t know the answer, it asks for a contact.

Frequently asked questions

Is the minute of silence available on the free plan?
